Location: Cambridge, MA 02138

Assignment Duration: 13-Weeks Contract

Position Highlights:

• Shift: Day Shift (8)-8:00 start
• Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
• Weekly Pay Rate: $2,600 $2,720

Responsibilities:

• Perform utilization review and discharge planning for all inpatient admissions to MAH.
• Communicate with attending and house staff regarding alternative care options when appropriate.
• Use clinical expertise to determine the appropriate level of care and lead care team discussions.
• Collaborate with nursing and social work to coordinate patient discharge planning.
• Identify and report inpatient days not meeting acute-level criteria to the physician reviewer.
• Partner with patients and families to arrange post-hospital care and address short- and long-term needs.
• Manage observation status patients by ensuring appropriate physician documentation and care status.
• Participate in weekend, holiday, and on-call/beeper rotation as needed.
• Comply with all insurance, contractual, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements:

• Education: Bachelor's degree preferred.
• License: Active Massachusetts RN license required .

Experience R equired :

• 3 years of medical/surgical nursing experience.
• 2 years of case management or utilization management experience.

Skills:

• Strong computer and typing skills.
• Effective communication, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred: Epic experience.
