Job Description

Progressive Design, Inc. is currently seeking a Project Controls Scheduler with experience in construction field . This is a full time on-site position that is located in Midlothian, VA (Richmond, VA area) .

Key Requirements & Responsibilities:

  • Develop and track project schedules for meetings and deliverables.
  • Prepare various reports.
  • Demonstrate understanding of project control tools.
  • Attend project meetings and prepare detailed minutes of meetings.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and track project schedules for meetings and deliverables.
  • Develop, implement & maintain effective scheduling reports, cost reports, cash flows and forecasts for multiple projects.
  • Develop various levels of schedules & adjusting throughout project
  • Apply and review the entry of logic ties within the schedules.
  • Monitor resource loading of a schedule.
  • Perform schedule what-if scenarios.
  • Input and validate progress measurements.
  • Develop and maintain progress measurement.
  • Understanding of construction sequences & working through scenarios
  • Monitor, update, and review financial data.
  • Prepare drafts of monthly progress reports.
  • Track and ensure compliance with contract requirements.
  • Use processes and tools established on projects.
  • Demonstrate understanding of project control tools.
  • Assist in schedule baseline and schedule update reviews.
  • Assist in cost estimate development and review.
  • Provide support with development, monitoring, and execution of constructability/biddability reviews, construction schedule, schedule impact analysis, contract change/work order, project risk analysis, project records and contract administration, and other assigned elements by Project Managers & Engineers.
  • Manage project information, including hard-copy and electronic files.
  • Coordinate information flow between project team and client & creating weekly reports
  • Attend project meetings and prepare detailed minutes of meetings.
  • Develop presentations based on input from project team members.
  • Prepare new project start-up documents per HDR project and quality procedures, including development of schedules and level of effort estimates.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or Engineering
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in project coordination with a consulting/engineering firm
  • Local candidates preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience managing construction schedules
  • Proficiencies with scheduling tool Microsoft Project as well as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple long- and short-term tasks simultaneously
  • Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving abilities
